I needed to brag on something small

So remember how we never use this Blog anymore? You're pregnant. I'm busy. Blah blah blah.

But last night I was having one of those total "pat myself on the back!" moments with fitness/diet and I wanted to brag. And doing it on my own Blog--though not entirely out of the question--seems a little weird at the moment. Then I remembered we have THIS blog to brag, confess, etc. etc. So here's the thing:

My fitness goal for 2010 is making a better effort with my portion control. I've already been off treats/sugar for the school year and I want to do a better job with my diet still. And so I've been striving to eat only until I'm full and eating more vegetables than everything else. Last night I made casserole for dinner. It makes 6 servings. I ate one serving, a BIG serving of green peas (these may be my favorite vegetable...), and almost an entire bottle of water. And then? I STOPPED. Go me. It was tempting to eat another serving of casserole but really...I wasn't hungry anymore. I just knew it tasted good. BUT I STOPPED! Really--Go Me.

And on top of that, I cleaned up the dishes and went to my room so I wouldn't start scavenging for snacks I didn't need.

Celebrate each success, right?

And yes, you should always celebrate self-control. I, myself, don't have much lately.

My favorite green vegetable is asparagus. My favorite overall is probably tomatoes, fresh ones, from a garden. I can't wait for summer.
